Charts from a picker, and a full-screen cover studio

Six small releases between 2 and 3 September, most of them for people who write on the blog.

Charts from a picker

Inserting a chart used to open a browser prompt filled with JSON. It now opens a side panel where you pick one of 30 examples and adjust it with controls that match the chart kind. Treemap, funnel and heatmap join bar, line, radar, scatter and graph, for eight kinds, and seven named themes set the look. You can edit a chart in place. In the blog editor, the “AI chart” command builds a line, bar or radar chart from a description.

The cover studio, full screen

The cover studio moved from a side sheet to a full-screen editor with eight tools: Generate, Looks, Text, Background, Shapes, Art, Effects and Layout. It has undo and redo, zoom, and a preview at three aspect ratios. Saving no longer flattens the design into the image, so you can reopen a cover and keep editing it.

The Journal archive

The /blog archive now leaves out release notes, which stay on /changelog and in the “From the changelog” strip, and it opens in the bento layout. Card titles sit on a scrim tinted from the cover instead of a white plate, a broken cover falls back to a generated one, and the reading-progress bar on articles now draws.

The landing hero

The headline now reads “Skill-based adaptive learning for your team”, with the last word rolling through employees, students, customers and partners. The four scroll chapters became a dock with one interactive stage each: a readiness dial, a skill constellation, a policy paper with a diff, and a module mosaic. This release also fixes a hydration failure that made every entrance animation on the site play twice.

Fixed

• Pressing Enter in a paragraph did nothing, because two copies of prosemirror-model were loaded.
• The slash menu took over Enter and the arrow keys after any “/” typed in prose.
• The blog Preview tab dropped every chart.
• A saved Twitch embed reopened as “No URL set”.
• [server] The blog category picker offered only “No category” in production.

Removed

• The JSON prompt for inserting charts.
• The “N 01 | 0%” readout on articles, and the Changelog tab on the archive.
