The learner rail groups every page under six icons

Seven releases between 21 and 25 September.

Six icons and a subrail

The learner rail now has six icons: Home, Search, Discover, Achievement, Community and Account. Each one owns a group of pages, and the sidebar lists only the group you are in. The tab strips on the dashboard and the profile page are gone, and their tabs are sidebar rows now. /app opens Today, and pages sit in a centred column up to 1,400 pixels wide. The mouse wheel over the rails, which used to do nothing, now scrolls the page.

Today as a bento

Today is one 12-column grid. Cohort standing has its own podium card with the top three, and the skill radar uses a fixed 0 to 100 scale with a dashed outline for your average. Every radar in the product, including the one in Module Studio, now uses the same chart.

Sessions that refresh

Some sessions neither refreshed nor signed out. The frontend now recognises a refused refresh in every language, 27 server functions that skipped the refresh now go through it, and a session that cannot be renewed signs out. On the server, concurrent refreshes with the same token land on the same next token, the previous token is accepted for 10 seconds, and the API answers 503 when it cannot check a token at all.

Library, progress and a lifetime range

The library has status tabs (All, In progress, Paused, Completed and Abandoned) with counts, and shows 12 paths a page. Empty states are designed: an empty library offers to browse paths or try a micro-lesson. The Progress tab uses the same range control as /app/analytics, and both gain a Lifetime range that starts on the day you joined.

• The Domain Studio and Path Studio docks list everything a domain or path offers: skills, objectives, outcomes, prerequisites, industries, duration and certificate.

• The reader outline highlights today’s lessons by default.
• The rail’s Search icon opens the command palette.

• The Today page grew 512 pixels taller than the window on accounts with skill data.
• English skill names on the Arabic Today page had their punctuation moved to the front.
• Discover offered a filter chip for a domain with no visible paths.

• The dashboard’s Certificates tab, which moved to your profile.
• The fixed 12-week activity chart on Progress.
